About me:: To get an idea about the ambitions behind the iconoclastic, eclectic and colourful music of NAM one has to ask one main question: “What are the links between a versatile singer, songwriter & multiinstrumentalist to a Kurdish player of oriental lutes, a Celtic Harp player, a percussionist that is mainly interested in frame-drum techniques of different cultures from all over the world...”

Well, the answer is: “Travelling, searching for !the sound! and the awareness of the own roots within the rich heritage of Austria´s ancient cultures & its visitors.” From primeval times on the fertile regions of the Danube have always been a melting pot of different cultures. As a rich environment and living space for many ancestors: Celts, Germans, Romans and many more Austria was and will always be the central heart of Europe that remains up until today as an intermediary between East and West.

Following the roots NAM is a meeting pool of musicians, that gather in various lineups in order to fuse the spirit of ancient instruments with their own ideas to an eclectic new style of world music...

I was so deeply impressed by your music - the jews harp playing in duet and the harp and your overtone singing ... I hope that all you members of NAM will join this network. Hope you remember that I gave all of you three after the concert my visit card - it shall be more than a symbolic sign that we will meet us again. Madosini is really at the very African roots of the overtone wonder but is not recognised in her own country... Anyway, MadoJazz is hoping to finally make a proper recording later this year. Hope we meet sometime. Madosini will be at the Le Reve de l'Aborigene festival in France and at the Forde Festival this year if you get a chance to hear her. Keep well.
